Meet Devin
Dear Neighbor,
Over the last six years, residents living in the 43rd Senate District have been getting less and less resources from our government. Less funding for our schools, less funding for our aging infrastructure, and less funding for the projects that are important to families in Rensselaer, Washington and Albany Counties.
Making matters worse, we have a federal government that is actively attacking New York in every way it can. Trump is stripping away funding that hurts us in ways large and small across the Capitol Region.
Dear Neighbor,

Our current State Senator is failing us. When I look around at what other representatives are delivering for their communities, it’s clear that we are not getting the resources we deserve. That’s why I’m running to be your seat at the table when and where decisions are made.
I look forward to earning your support, and the opportunity to represent you in Albany.
I was born and raised in a working class family in Upstate New York. As a lifelong public servant, educator, and advocate, it pains me to see our region get left behind as people struggle with higher prices and fewer opportunities. I’m running for Senate because against this difficult backdrop, our current State Senator is failing us. He fights for his backers in industry and the extremists that support his campaign.
As Senator, I will stand up to corrupt politicians, corporations, and utilities that exploit us, and demand resources for our roads, schools, rural communities, and hospitals.
I look forward to earning your support, and the opportunity to represent you in Albany.
Born and raised in a working-class family in Upstate New York, Devin Lander knows what hard work means and how much is at stake when state government forgets the people it’s supposed to serve. A lifelong public servant, educator, and advocate, Devin is running for State Senate to bring pragmatic solutions and real representation back to the people of the 43rd Senate district in Albany, Rensselaer, and Washington Counties
Uplifting Upstate
Affordability
It’s no secret that prices continue to rise for services that all families depend on. For my family, the cost of our internet increases every year without any additional benefits, and our utility bills have nearly doubled. I will crack down on utility companies, limit excessive charges and unfair rate hikes, and fight to make life more affordable for ratepayers.
Standing up to Trump
Our federal government is out of control with ICE attacking its own citizens, Trump pulling resources from New York as punishment, and nothing being done about rising prices. I will always stand up to the Trump administration and fight to protect New Yorkers from federal overreach.
Healthcare
With Trump and the federal government cutting our healthcare, Devin Lander will fight to lower the cost of prescription drugs, expand insurance coverage for life-saving medications, and protect against medical debt.
Environment
Our communities have been negatively impacted by PCBs and PFAs in the Hudson River. Yet, the site of the largest superfund cleanup in the history of our nation is ignored by our current Senator. Whether it's preventing the negative effects of data centers or demanding proper clean up at sites like Fort Edward, I will protect our health and safety.
Local Investment
Lead pipes, old textbooks in our schools and aging roads and bridges are all too common as our region’s infrastructure and public services deteriorate. I will fight to fully fund our police, first responders and schools, expand rural access to healthcare, and replace our crumbling infrastructure.
Education
Every child deserves an excellent education, no matter their zip code. School districts in Upstate NY face a unique set of challenges that have not been meaningfully addressed. Many have been forced to cut art, music, language, libraries and sports programs. I will fight to ensure that our schools are fully funded so that all of our children have access to the high-quality public education that they deserve.
Infrastructure
Lead pipes, outdated sewer systems and aging roads and bridges are all too common in the 43rd District. I will be advocating for a dedicated fund to support infrastructure upgrades. This fund would be used to modernize outdated systems and make upgrades to keep our communities moving forward.
